Partner Pork

Reared outdoors in a patchwork of woodland and pasture

Woodland & Pasture Pork

Our Partner Pork comes from small-scale, high-welfare, regenerative farm’s. The pigs – a mix of Saddleback, Gloucester Old Spot, Large Black, Tamworth, and Duroc – are bred and born on the farm’s and live in stable family groups.

They are reared outdoors, with sows farrowing naturally in field nests and piglets free to roam from an early age. The farm’s avoid industrial systems, instead using rotational grazing and seasonal seed scattering to improve soil health and biodiversity. In winter, pigs are housed with cattle, where their natural rooting behaviour helps to compost the bedding. Their diet includes locally grown barley, beans, peas, and rapeseed meal, alongside increasing amounts of forage and fruit from the farm’s developing agroforestry system.

The result is slow-grown pork with well-developed flavour, produced in a way that supports soil regeneration, animal welfare and long-term sustainability.

Our Animals Drive Biodiversity

By grazing, browsing, rooting and trampling, the free-roaming animals at Knepp create a dynamic mosaic of habitats – from open grassland to scrub and woodland – supporting a rich web of life. Their presence is driving the return of rare species like nightingales, turtle doves, and purple emperor butterflies.
