Weddings in the Wild

Your day at nature's pace

Your day at nature's pace

Weddings at Knepp take place in the heart of our pioneering rewilding project in West Sussex - 3,500 acres of Wildland where Exmoor ponies, old English longhorn cattle, Tamworth pigs, and red and fallow deer roam freely, bringing the land back to life. To keep as light a footprint on nature as possible, we host a very limited number of weddings every year from May to September.

A Wonderfully Wild Day

There’s nowhere quite like Knepp for a wedding celebration. In the enchanting setting of the rewilded Repton Park, it’s a place to celebrate the wonder of life and each other.

Gather on the meadow beside our ancient wood, overlooking your own private lake, for a commitment ceremony celebrated by natural birdsong. Toast your nuptials under the canopy of a magical tipi marquee, and dance under the starlit sky. If you’re lucky, you may be watched by a curious pony or two or a white stork flying overhead.

An Exclusive Setting

Our wedding venue is located in West Sussex within easy reach of London and offers a genuine sense of exclusivity. There are a number of local mainline railway stations and we’re just 40 minutes from Gatwick Airport.

Our wedding package includes exclusive use of the site and woodland bridal suite from Friday to Sunday, allowing you to enjoy the occasion at a relaxed and easy pace.

Outdoor Ceremonies

While we love to host wedding receptions, unfortunately we do not hold a licence for official marriage ceremonies. Instead, many couples stage an outdoor commitment ceremony during their celebration with the natural landscape as the backdrop.

Celebrate In Nature

Celebrate in Nature

Weddings at Knepp are a charmed experience. Being immersed in nature brings people together in an enriching and uniquely beautiful way. Wedding couples and guests, often nature enthusiasts, fall in love with our landscape the moment they arrive and often return to Knepp to celebrate their anniversaries.

Sleep in the Wild

Couples and a small party of guests can immerse themselves in the Knepp experience for the full weekend, staying on site. The wedding couple can enjoy our fairytale woodland cabin, the Bothy, and we have space for up to ten small tents on the edges of the wood. For added comfort and ease we can recommend suppliers of pop-up glamping tents, and a list of nearby hotels for further guests.

“Thank you so much for the most incredible wedding weekend. Our guests were completely blown away by the breathtaking location and the whole event was magical from beginning to end. It was everything we dreamt of…and more.”

— Ben & Millie, May 2025

Do you have a question about a Knepp outdoor wedding in the wild? Please find answers to your queries below. If you anything is left unanswered please contact our weddings team.

Our wedding venue welcomes up to 150 guests, set on the edge of ancient woodland overlooking Springwood Pond.

Yes, the land allocated for weddings is exclusively yours for the duration of your event. Couples have access from Friday to Sunday to cover the set-up and takedown time.

The hire fee is £4000 inclusive of VAT. A refundable security deposit of £500 is required at the time of booking together with 30% of the total balance. The remaining balance is settled 8 weeks prior to the wedding date.

To minimise the footprint on the land, we only host weddings on a very limited number of weekends from April to September.

The choice is entirely yours. From marquees and catering to flowers and entertainment, you’re free to bring in the suppliers who feel right for your day — we don’t tie you to a preferred list. We’re also very happy to recommend suppliers we’ve worked with before who know the venue well.

Your hire covers three days in total — one for set-up, one for the celebration itself, and one for takedown — so there’s no need to rush.

Absolutely — music is very much part of the celebration. To protect the peace of the Wildland and the wildlife that calls it home, amplified music needs to be turned off by 11pm, with quieter, acoustic music welcome until the event finishes at midnight.

We don’t charge corkage to bring your own alcohol. However, if you wish to sell alcohol you will need to obtain a TENS licence.

Yes. Your hire includes parking for up to 50 cars, so your guests can arrive with ease and enjoy the evening without worrying about how they’ll get home. Additional parking can be arranged on request.

Your hire includes a woodside cabin with four restrooms, baby change and an accessible loo close by, so there’s no need to hire additional bathroom facilities for guests.
