Weddings at Knepp Estate

Our wedding venue is located in the heart of Knepp’s legendary rewilding project in West Sussex and provides a wild backdrop for a unique occasion, surrounded by free-roaming animals and wildlife.
The venue is on the edge of ancient woodland overlooking beautiful Springwood Pond in the middle of Knepp’s 700-acre rewilded Repton Park – perfect for couples looking for a one-of-a-kind outdoor wedding reception that is fresh, inspiring and connected to nature.
Wedding Venue Hire
Our outdoor wedding venue can accommodate up to 150 guests. To preserve the grounds we only host weddings from June to September.
Our venue hire package includes use of the site, a woodside cabin with five adjacent loos, parking for up to 50 cars, and access to the Bothy—a charming, rustic bridal suite tucked away in the woods, offering private accommodation for the newlyweds on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Please note that we are a reception-only venue and do not hold a license for official marriage ceremonies. However, many couples choose to host a personalized commitment ceremony on-site during their celebration.
Typically, the venue hire spans three days: one day for set-up, one for the event, and one for takedown and cleanup. If you need additional days, let us know, and we’ll be happy to discuss availability.
External Wedding Suppliers
Marquees
Being an outdoor wedding venue, you will need to hire a marquee for your big day.
The choice and organisation of marquees is down to you, allowing you the freedom to choose your own style of event and marquee provider. We have a list of companies that we’ve worked with in the past, who we would recommend and who know the site well.

Caterers
Onsite catering is again your own personal choice. If it appeals, we are happy to provide our own organic Wild Range beef and/or venison from animals that graze the land on which your wedding takes place.
The wedding field is supplied by a 40 Amp distribution board, with electricity coming from a renewable energy supplier. There is also mains water direct to the site.
Bar Hire
Bar hire is allowed and to be organised by yourselves. If alcohol is to be sold to guests then a “Temporary Event Notice” will need to be obtained.
Live Entertainment
Live bands and DJs are more than welcome to play at your wedding. The band or DJ of your choice will need to provide their own PA, professional lighting and potentially staging if required.
Amplified music of any kind, including bands and announcements, must be turned off at 11pm out of respect for local residents and wildlife on the Estate.
Quiet background music is permitted until the event finishes at midnight.
Wedding Accommodation
The Bothy in the Woods, located near the tranquil Springwood Pond, has been transformed into a charming rustic bridal suite for the Friday and Saturday nights. The spacious main room features a cozy four-poster bed at one end, with a comfortable sofa and armchair around a wood-burning stove at the other. The en suite bathroom has a gigantic, luxurious bath with a separate shower, and there’s a charming, fully-equipped kitchen.
We also provide space for up to 10 small camping tents for guests wishing to stay on-site.
Please note that we’re unable to host wedding parties or groups in either our glamping accommodations or Pitch Your Own camping field.
