Knepp Wildland offers three uniquely designed shepherd’s huts, each providing a cozy retreat that harmoniously blends rustic charm with modern comforts.
The Knepp shepherd’s huts are constructed from recycled materials, including floorboards salvaged from the west wing of Knepp Castle. Furnishings include antique writing desks and chairs, creating a cozy space for relaxation. The double beds are nestled at one end of the huts, surrounded by three walls, ensuring warmth and coziness even on the chilliest nights. Each bed has a luxury natural fibre mattress, feather duvet, four down pillows, pure Egyptian cotton bed linen, and colourful recycled wool blankets. Towels are provided, and hypoallergenic bedding is available upon request.
Each shepherd’s hut is thoughtfully crafted to provide a unique and comfortable glamping experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of the rewilding project while enjoying the coziness of these charming accommodations.
Knepp Wildland Safaris, our gardens and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.
Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.
For this reason, our safaris, garden visits, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
