NEW Winter Menu, Seven Days a Week

Cabin Stays

The Bothy and Dairy, our two charming rustic cabins, are perfect for a winter escape at Knepp.

Head out in your wellies on our extensive network of public footpaths through the rewilding project and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at our quietest time of year. There’s still plenty of wildlife to see – winter flocks of starlings, hawfinches, redwings and fieldfares and, for the first time in hundreds of years in the UK, over-wintering white storks. Not forgetting our free-roaming herbivores, including Tamworth pigs rootling for rhizomes and earthworms in the soft, muddy ground, sturdy Exmoor ponies with frost on their backs and red stags in clean antler after the rut.

Winter weather brings drama and beauty all its own – inundated floodplains with hundreds of honking geese, the odd glorious sunset and sparkling night skies.

Retire after a long walk or a delicious warming lunch at our Wilding Kitchen to your cosy cabin for a peaceful evening by the fire. Suitable for a single person or couple, each of our rural cabins has a woodburning stove with a plentiful stock of sustainable, home-sourced wood, and is furnished with deep sofas, rugs and a luxurious bed with natural-fibre mattress, pure wool topper, organic cotton bed linen, and down duvet and pillows (hypoallergenic bedding available).

Our 12+ Policy

Knepp Wildland Safaris, our gardens and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.

Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.

For this reason, our safaris, garden visits, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
