Self-Guided Garden Tours
A self-guided tour allows you to explore our dynamic, climate-resilient Rewilded Walled Garden for a couple of hours at your own pace. We provide a map explaining the basic philosophy, layout and planting highlights of our wilding experiment. Our new QR staging posts around the garden allow you to learn the plants in different seasons and the key features of each section of the garden.
Discover the complex mosaic of habitats that provides opportunities for a wide spectrum of insects, birds and other life, and take away inspiration for your own garden. If you’d like to learn more, book on a guided tour or workshop.

The garden is open only on certain days for self-guided tours.
Booking a Self-guided tour of Knepp’s Rewilded Walled Garden in 2026 entitles you to 2-for-1 entry to Borde Hill Garden, between 14 February to 23 December 2026.
Borde Hill Garden, also in West Sussex, is a botanically rich landscaped garden and traditional parkland renowned for its impressive collection of rare trees, shrubs and plants.
Simply present a copy of your Knepp Rewilded Garden Self-Guided tour 2026 ticket to redeem the Borde Hill 2-for-1 day entry ticket offer on arrival at Borde Hill. For further details visit the Borde Hill website here.
PLEASE NOTE: The garden visits take place next to Knepp Castle Estate Office in the Middle Block of the rewilding project – a different place to all other safaris. Please do not go to the campsite/safari car park, but follow the directions to the Walled Garden Apple Shed on your pre-visit email.
