Jason Emrich

MANAGER, KNEPP ESTATE

Jason has been the estate manager at Knepp since 2000. He is responsible for developing new businesses as well as overseeing the management of existing enterprises, from hospitality and tourism, ethical food production to land and property management.

He started at Knepp when the restoration of the Repton park around Knepp castle was in its planning phase and has been a lynchpin in the transition from conventional farming to rewilding and regenerative agriculture.

“This has been the most fabulous adventure. I have learned so much about our natural history and am proud to have played my part in the Knepp’s evolution and the restoration of its biodiversity, whilst converting much of the former agricultural infrastructure into rental units. After Lady Isabella’s infectious book, landowners who contact us want to see it for themselves and often want to consider something similar. The regime that funded the development of our rewilding project is changing, and we like other landowners are also searching for ways to ensure that our project remains financially sustainable. Happily, our much-improved biodiversity baseline will I’m sure stand us in good stead for the future, and we are delighted to share our story with others.”

Our 12+ Policy

Knepp Wildland Safaris and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.

Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.

For this reason, our safaris, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
