Bechstein’s Bell Tent

The Bechstein’s Bell Tent, named after one of our rarest bats, is situated in the middle of ancient woodland which is a carpet of bluebells in spring, and full of birdsong.

The interior is furnished with antique and upcycled furniture, colourful rugs and a cosy sofa.

The tent has a king-sized bed (5ft wide x 6.6ft long) with luxury natural fibre mattress, feather duvet, four down pillows, pure Egyptian cotton bed-linen, and colourful wool blankets. Towels are provided and we can provide hypoallergenic bedding on request.

The wood-burning stove, which will keep you toasty even in the colder months, has a stove-top kettle and coffee-maker. We supply a starter box of kindling, eco-firelighters and sustainably sourced wood; further supplies are available from our campsite shop.

All of our accommodation is off-grid. Lighting is provided by a battery hurricane lamp, two bedside reading lights, and a candle lantern.

Outside, the tent has its own upcycled fire-pit and barbeque grill, with two hardwood chairs.

Our 12+ Policy

Knepp Wildland Safaris and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.

Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.

For this reason, our safaris, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
