Join a one-off safari with Knepp’s owner Charlie Burrell and our friend Andris Fågelviskare, an extraordinary 34-year-old naturalist from Sweden. Charlie met Andris, known as the Bird Whisperer, in Romania in 2023.
Andris has spent years living in the wild, communing with wolves and learning how to imitate the calls of around 150 different birds.
After a short presentation over a cup of tea, enjoy a walk in the company of the man who instigated Knepp’s rewilding project and one of the most astonishing naturalists in Europe.
The Safari Special is a three-hour walk with frequent stops. You’ll need a good level of fitness and be able to cope with walking on uneven ground. If the weather has been at all wet, even in previous days, wellies will be a must as our paths can be submerged by water in places.
9.30am-12.30pm
£80 per person
On 30 April Andris will be joining Isabella Tree at the Knepp Wilding Kitchen to discuss his experiences of living close to wild wolves and share some of his remarkable bird calls. Find out more about the author supper online here.
Knepp Wildland Safaris, our gardens and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.
Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.
For this reason, our safaris, garden visits, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
