After a presentation with tea and coffee in the Granary you will head out on foot into the rewilding project to learn about the dynamics of self-generating wood pasture, eco-system services and the concept of natural capital. You will discuss how our free-roaming herbivores are managed and how they create habitats and biodiversity in the landscape.
Lead by Tony Whitbread, landscape ecologist and president of the Sussex Wildlife Trust, and Laurie Jackson, an experienced landowner advisor and Knepp guide, you’ll hear about what we’re learning at Knepp and how this can be applied to landscape-scale conservation thinking.
Mid-way through the safari you’ll break for a refreshing drink and locally made brownies.
This safari is scheduled for 02 May, 27 June and 18 July.
Our Ecology of Rewilding Safari is at a gentle walking pace with frequent stops. You’ll need a good level of fitness and be able to cope with walking on uneven ground.

Knepp Wildland Safaris and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.
Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.
For this reason, our safaris, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
