Self-guided tours of the rewilded walled garden at Knepp offer great opportunities to explore the project at your own pace. We provide a map and some background information – and leave the rest to you.
For those who prefer self-directed learning these tours offer the perfect opportunity to soak up everything our rewilded garden has to offer – whether you’re a structured and methodical ‘follow-the-map’ sort of explorer or prefer to zig-zag around led by the plants and wildlife that catch your eye. With our self-guided tours, you’re in control.
Grab a detailed map covering the basic philosophy, layout, and planting highlights of our rewilding experiment, and explore the garden for a couple of hours at your own pace.
PLEASE NOTE: These events are for pre-booked tickets only. We regret that we can’t accommodate drop-ins. The garden visits take place in a different place to all other safaris. Do not go to the campsite/safari car park; please follow the directions to the walled garden on your pre-visit email.

Knepp Wildland Safaris and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.
Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.
For this reason, our safaris, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
