Managing the Rewilded Garden Workshop
What is the Managing the Rewilded Garden Workshop?
This rewilded garden workshop, led by one of our senior garden team, explores the practical aspects of managing a wild garden. In our rewilded Walled Garden experiment, we’ve been challenging conventional gardening methods to create the highest possible opportunities for wildlife. But what does this mean in practice? What happens with weeding and cutting back, for example?
Learn about:
• the principles of rewilding, and what we mean by this in a garden context
• the role of the gardener as a keystone species
• how we choose what stays and goes in the garden ecosystem
• seasonal management
• the importance of connectivity and disturbance
• sustainability, both in terms of resources and time.
Who is this garden workshop for?
Managing the Rewilded Garden is for gardeners of all levels interested in practical rewilding techniques, exploring alternative gardening methods and creating biodiverse spaces. It’s a perfect follow-on to the ‘Planting the Rewilded Garden workshops’ earlier in the season.
