Patrick Toe

LIVESTOCK MANAGER

Although Pat doesn’t call himself a farmer, much of his time is dedicated to our old English longhorn cattle, Tamworth pigs and Exmoor ponies. He handles the animal paperwork, fencing, farm inspections, 4×4 driving instruction, tractor work, helps out on the regen farm, and also gives the occasional guided tour.

Pat started working at Knepp in 2009. Prior to that he spent 18 years as an arborist in the wood gang at Leonardslee Gardens and continues to play drums in a kick-ass rock band.

“The cattle are the thing I spend the majority of my time on. I”m having to react and adapt as the cattle and our land evolves. Developing my skills and understanding of Bud Williams cattle handling is a long-term undertaking. It”s proving to be rewarding and frustrating in equal measure.”

Our 12+ Policy

Knepp Wildland Safaris and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.

Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.

For this reason, our safaris, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
