Moy Fierheller

DEPUTY HEAD GARDENER, KNEPP CASTLE

Moy joined Knepp in 2019 and shares the post of Deputy Head Gardener with her long-time friend and colleague Suzi Turner. Together they implemented Tom Stuart Smith’s design of the rewilded Victorian walled garden over two years. Since the department expanded to include the Market Garden, they now work with Charlie Harpur, maintaining the castle grounds, hosting garden safari visitors and weeding like a herbivore. After a career change in 2001, she studied horticulture at Stanmer Park in Brighton and went on to run her own garden maintenance company. She has travelled widely in Southeast Asia and South America and worked for several years in the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming, USA.
She is an avid reader, enjoys ballet classes and spends much of her spare time trying to gain a deeper understanding of conservation and ecology.

“Knepp is a fantastic environment to work in and I’m so pleased to be involved in the project of ‘wilding the garden’ from the beginning. We look forward to seeing horticulture and conservation combining forces to really change the wider narrative of gardening in this country and beyond.”

Our 12+ Policy

Knepp Wildland Safaris and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.

Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.

For this reason, our safaris, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
