Kat Dahl

ECOLOGIST & SAFARI GUIDE

Kat is a passionate naturalist with a particular interest in insects, and a Learning Officer with Berks Bucks Oxon Wildlife Trust, teaching people of all ages about wildlife. She is a member of the Butterfly Conservation Upper Thames Committee and their Conservation and Recording Team, Berkshire and Sussex Moth Groups, and the Steyning Downland Scheme Data Group. She is also an Education Volunteer with Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Kat has worked on projects to protect turtles in Cyprus and rehabilitate Snow Leopards in Kyrgyzstan, but is happiest moth-trapping, butterfly-watching and caterpillar-hunting, and sharing the wonders of nature with others.

“Knepp fills me with inspiration and reassures me about the future of nature. It is such a pioneering, courageous and dynamic project, so there are always new things to see, and I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to share them with others and to be part of such an amazing team.”

Our 12+ Policy

Knepp Wildland Safaris, our gardens and campsite are all about the quiet and patient observation of nature.

Some of the species we are likely to encounter are shy or can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. Our campsite with open-air fire-pits, wood-burning stoves and an on-site pond is unsuitable for small children.

For this reason, our safaris, garden visits, holiday cottages and campsite are suitable only for children of 12 and over.
