Guided Garden Tours
Pre-Visit Information
Time: 10.30am-12.30pm and 2pm-4pm
Please arrive at least 15 minutes (and no more than 30 minutes) before the tour is due to begin.
What’s provided: Tea and coffee. Please let us know of any allergies and if you’re vegetarian/vegan in advance and we’ll do our best to cater for you.
What to bring: Binoculars, camera etc. No dogs (except assistant/service dogs) please.
What to wear: We will be out in the garden so please be prepared for the British weather! The ground is uneven so wear sturdy waterproof boots or wellingtons, and if it’s wet please bring waterproof jacket and trousers, and hat etc.
Please note: Guests should not smoke or vape on garden visits.
Where to meet: The Apple Shed, near Knepp Castle Estate Office, off Pound Lane, West Grinstead, RH13 8LJ.

Travelling by car
To drive to the Apple Shed turn off of Pound Lane and enter gate between two gatehouses (press button to open gate). Follow the drive down (for a few minutes) and take the third turning on your left which will bring you in next to a big barn (The Bio-barn).
Parking is free in the Car Park.

We are in a remote and relatively crime-free area but we can’t take responsibility for valuables on site, including vehicles and their contents in the Car Park.
Travelling from the Knepp Wilding Kitchen
The Wilding Kitchen Restaurant and Shop are in a different location from where our walled garden visits take place.
Please allow 10 minutes to drive and 45 minutes to walk to the walled garden.
- Turn right onto the A24 slip road (Worthing Road)
- Turn right onto Swallows Lane
- Follow Swallows Lane for two minutes
- There will be a sharp curve to the right where Swallows Lane becomes Pound Lane
- Follow Pound Lane for one minute
- Right turn off of Pound Lane and enter gate between two gatehouses (press button to open gate).
- Follow the drive down (for a few minutes) and take the third turning on your left signposted Apple Shed.
If you are eating lunch at the Wilding Kitchen, please give yourself at least 1.5 hours to sit and enjoy your food.

The 23 bus runs along the A24 between Horsham and Worthing.
Our closest stop is Partidge Green Turn on the A24. You can then follow the public footpath to the Walled Garden.

Christ’s Hospital (9 miles)
There is a taxi rank outside Horsham Station.
