As any seasoned wildlife watcher knows, some of the best wildlife encounters occur in the first few hours after daybreak. With the bird breeding season coming to a close, family parties of scrub-loving species will be foraging for insects and fruits to fatten up and begin drifting south on their epic migratory journeys to their wintering grounds. Elusive wild mammals and the free-roaming cattle, ponies, pigs and deer are more confiding, affording views in the soft light and cool of the morning, before wandering off to seek out shade away from the summer heat and the hustle and bustle of the day.
This safari is for those early risers who are keen explore the best of what Knepp has to offer at this time of year.
The safari ends with refreshments.
Our Early Bird Safari is a 3 hour walk with frequent stops for wildlife-spotting. You’ll need a good level of fitness and be able to cope with walking on uneven ground.
