Pre-Visit Information
Time: 9.45am arrival for a prompt 10am start. Concludes at 12pm.
What’s provided: Tea and coffee on arrival, and a delicious snack. Please let us know of any allergies, and if you’re vegan, in advance and we’ll do our best to cater for you.
What to bring: Binoculars, camera etc. No dogs (except assistant/service dogs) please.
What to wear: We will be out in the walled garden so please be prepared for the British weather! The ground is uneven so wear sturdy waterproof boots or wellingtons, and if it’s wet please bring waterproof jacket and trousers, and hat etc.
Please note: Guests should not smoke or vape on garden visits.
Where to meet: The Apple Store, near Knepp Castle, off Pound Lane, West Grinstead, RH13 8LJ.

Travelling by car
To drive to the Walled Garden turn off of Pound Lane and enter gate between two gatehouses (press button to open gate). Follow the drive down (for a few minutes) and take the third turning on your left which will bring you in next to a big barn (The Bio-barn).
Parking is free in the Car Park.

Travelling from the Knepp Wilding Kitchen
The Wilding Kitchen Restaurant and Shop are in a different location from where our walled garden visits take place.
Please allow 10 minutes to drive and 45 minutes to walk to the walled garden.
- Turn left onto the A24
- Take the first slip road off the A24 into the Knepp Estate (through a white gate) NB no signage for this slip road
- Follow the road all the way to the castle
- Turn left before the castle
- Take the first right (signposted Garden Safaris)
If you are eating lunch at the Wilding Kitchen, please give yourself at least 1.5 hours to sit and enjoy your food.

We are surrounded by public footpaths and bridleways, including:

The 23 bus runs along the A24 between Horsham and Worthing.
Our closest stop is Partidge Green Turn on the A24. You can then follow the public footpath to the Walled Garden.

Billingshurst (8.3 miles)
Horsham (8.9 miles)
Christ’s Hospital (9 miles)
There is a taxi rank outside Horsham Station.
