Hours (per person): 40 hours per week, plus overtime during the busy season

Salary: £13.21/hour plus discretionary bonus at the end of the season

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable and hard-working Seasonal Campsite Wardens to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 season.
Our warden role is a seasonal position for two people applying together, who are happy to share accommodation and jointly fulfil the duties of the warden couple.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the heart of the renowned Knepp Rewilding Project, one of the largest and most pioneering rewilding initiatives in lowland Europe. You’ll become part of our award-winning hospitality team, helping to maintain our 5-star campsite while ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional stay.
The role is varied and hands-on, combining housekeeping, maintenance, customer service, shop duties and site safety. You’ll also take part in the campsite’s on-call safari emergency response and help ensure the site remains safe and secure during evenings.
As this role requires regular evening and weekend working, free onsite accommodation and utility bills are included. Staff also enjoy complimentary yoga and Pilates sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the campsite clean, tidy and maintained to a 5-star standard.
- Clean and inspect all campsite facilities at least twice daily.
- Clean safari venues at least twice each week.
- Clean and prepare glamping accommodation on changeover days.
- Maintain and repair campsite facilities, furniture, paths and grounds where required.
- Vacuum carpets and keep entrances clean and welcoming.
- Empty fire pits and clean stoves.
- Restock guest consumables.
- Work closely with the Visitor Manager to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
- Carry out regular health and safety checks and report any issues.
- Help operate the campsite shop.
- Participate in safari emergency response when required.
- Assist with evening security of the campsite and shop.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the successful operation of the campsite.
About You
We’re looking for applicants who are:
- Hard-working, organised and reliable.
- Meticulous with excellent attention to detail.
- Practical, with good DIY and general maintenance skills.
- Friendly, approachable and able to deliver excellent customer service.
- Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities.
- Responsible and able to work independently.
- Comfortable living and working onsite as part of a close-knit team.
- Full driving licence essential.
- First aid certification ideal but not essential.
