Discover the Amazing World of Bugs with Erica McAlister PM
The Amazing World of Bugs
1pm-2pm Thursday 20 February 2025
This is a fun workshop aimed at Primary school aged children.
Did you know that flies can help us solve crimes? Or that spiders could one day become astronauts? Or that moths are secretly the ultimate fashion designers?
Bugs are more than just creatures that buzz around or scurry underfoot—they play crucial roles in our lives that often go unnoticed. From helping us create food to keeping our planet clean and even solving real-life mysteries, these tiny heroes are always at work.
And who better to guide us through the fascinating world of bugs than Erica McAlister, Senior Entomologist at The Natural History Museum? On Thursday 20th, Erica will be hosting an interactive, family-friendly talk at Knepp, where she’ll share her passion for the incredible feats of bugs, and how we can protect these tiny wonders of nature. Tickets include:
An engaging, interactive talk that will leave both kids and adults in awe of the bugs all around us.
Hands-on learning with fascinating facts about how bugs help solve crimes, make food, and even have a role in space exploration!
A chance to meet Erica McAlister, one of science’s best communicators, and learn from one of the UK’s leading experts on bugs.
Optional book signing at the end for any budding entomologists longing to learn more!
The workshop is in our restored barn called the ‘Gathering’ next to the Wilding Kitchen café & restaurant. If you’d like to have lunch with us after the event we recommend booking a table.
