After a long career in Information Technology, Tim switched in recent years to a more nature-focused path. Having first visited Knepp over 20 years ago and been gripped by the rewilding project, he has been coming regularly ever since – initially as an interested visitor, but becoming more involved in the work of the site over time. Tim has been working with the White Stork Project since 2019, most recently as the Data Lead ensuring that many hours of volunteer monitoring each year produce a dataset supporting the successful running of the project, prompt ringing of the juvenile Storks that hatch at Knepp, and which serves as input to various research projects.
As a birding enthusiast since his teens, and for several years as a volunteer Roaming Ranger at Knepp, Tim has a broad knowledge of the wildlife – especially birdlife – to be found around the Estate. He has been leading Safaris since 2025, focused on Storks in particular, but also on wider birdlife and the overall Knepp story.
